OPI black shatter question?

OK so I just bought OPI's new black shatter nail polish. It was featured in a magazine with Katy Perry's nail polish so I got shades of that too. I was wondering if only certain nail polishes worked with the shatter or can I use any color? And I noticed that alot of people are asking were you can buy black shatter. I got mine from a place were beauty shops buy there stuff. You can also get it on some websites and ebay. It will not be out in stores until late this month from what I understand. :)
